Our Team

Sam Belkin is an associate at Ritholz Levy Fields LLP who brings a firsthand understanding of the entertainment industry to his legal practice.

Sam’s practice focuses primarily on transactional matters in the fields of music, comedy, tech, video games and new media. With a background that bridges creative, business and legal disciplines, he is uniquely positioned to guide clients through the complexities of intellectual property and entertainment law.
Sam attended NYU’s Clive Davis Institute of Recorded Music as a songwriter and recording artist before transitioning into the business side of entertainment. He began his career managing the music department at The Weinstein Company and later joined the business affairs team at global advertising agency McCann, where he handled all music matters and worked on award-winning campaigns for brands like Microsoft, Verizon, Mastercard, and L’Oréal.

Sam left advertising to attend Cardozo School of Law on a Dean’s Merit Scholarship, where he participated in the Filmmakers Legal Clinic, a transactional clinic through which he assisted in advising filmmakers on various copyright and corporate matters. Prior to joining Ritholz Levy Fields, Sam worked at a boutique entertainment firm, focusing on copyright terminations, licensing and international copyright law for a roster of clients that included some of the most recognizable names in Broadway and pop music.
