Adam Ritholz is founding and managing partner of Ritholz Levy Fields LLP, originally established in 1995.

Adam’s practice consists of the representation of individuals and both new entrepreneurial and established companies in the fields of entertainment, media, technology, apparel, branded goods, merchandising and endorsements, in connection with which the firm provides a broad range of services, including development of business model strategies, financing documents, revenue modeling, corporate set up and documentation, trademark (including registrations, office actions and oppositions), employment, talent and IP acquisition and licensing, digital platform licensing, as well as joint venture and acquisition transactions and distribution agreements. Adam has been at the forefront of the development of new approaches to the infrastructure and revenue models of new and developing entertainment companies to bring a fresh ground up approach to the challenges presented by the eroding viability of conventional entertainment business models.

In addition, Adam represents producers, networks and studios in the fields of film, television and music, television production companies as well as on-air talent for unscripted programming, independent film production companies and distributors, recording artists, songwriters, talent management companies, authors and senior executives in major entertainment companies.

After a start in litigation, Adam has practiced in the entertainment field since joining Arista Records. After positions in law and business affairs at Arista, CBS Records (now Sony), CBS Inc., Chrysalis Music Group, Adam became Executive Vice President of Chrysalis with responsibility for the day to day operations of both the record and music publishing companies. Following the sale of Chrysalis to EMI, Adam became head of Business Affairs and A&R Administration for the combined EMI Records label group. Adam returned to law practice in 1992, working with a wide range of well-known talent and companies, many of which he still works with today.

Adam has been a featured guest speaker at a variety of bar association meetings, seminars and conferences including Music.biz (NARM), The New School Center for Communications, Digital Breakfast, the College Music Journal Conference, New Music Seminar, Texas State Bar Association, South By South West Music Conference in Austin, TX and North By Northeast Music Conference in Toronto, among others.

During college, Adam co-founded an independent retail record business in upstate New York called Foothigh Records.
